The Museum of Female Arts is based on a collection of home made artifacts, artistic objects, industrial and communicative tools, gravitating around the feminine universe in the last three centuries. The building represents a new link between the past and the present, reflecting Ghigos’ concept of sustainable development and architecture.
This is a museum of objects that in the past were considered minor arts: a metaphor for all the activity that today are considered as minor steps toward a sustainable environment and that may have a big impact and become the sign of a big culture change in the future. Objects that are showed to visitors are presented in their grid of relationships, within their complete practical, symbolic, and economic value. The building has been remodeled in order to maintain consistency of interior design, while communicating with the city the strong relation between past, present, and sustainable development.
