fast architecture
Fast architecture is a contemporary urban field, born in a spontaneous way. Its strengths reside in the power of relationships, in the possibility of changing and communicate “design”. It’s an exhibition where the contents speak through plastic transparencies. “Buildings-Holders" made by other holders. These tanks become bricks and create light walls and programmable interfaces. It’s a construction that can grow and spread forever and without boundaries. Here it is presented in the shape of a pavilion that hosted the “NABA’s work shows” for Il Salone del Mobile 2006 and is now managed independently by the students.
These are “services holders”, they are at the service of new ideas, and students were and are the holders of the “use instructions”: instruction to change the city, to exhibit and show themselves, or instruction to communicate themselves while transforming the city.
This is a proposal of tools aimed at “urban compositions” between the design and the game that can be utilized and reconfigured as preferred. The spontaneous compositions are Naba’s “cells”, spontaneously created and able to recreate and adapt themselves, shrinking and growing to then start spreading around the Fuori Salone. “Cells” that sincerely create an interactive urban environment, and that transform the space in an invasive playground ready to propose new contents, to conquer new spaces in the city, recycling themselves up to the most remote corners… because in the end… if objects must be utilized… why should we limit their range of use? If the “Building-Object” is a solution, the building made of object is a revolution
